Froggie Night-Night

So we headed out to the driveway this morning...and by our car was this huge squashed frog with all its guts hanging out (I'll spare you a picture). I tried to get Roman in the car without him seeing it..i thought to myself...thats kinda like Siddhartha Gautamas parents (He founded Buddhism and his parents tried to keep him from experiencing or seeing that suffering and evil existed in the world)...But really it was so gross and Roman is in a stage where he just loves frogs. Anyway, I guess he saw the frog as I was putting him in because he looked at me very seriously, pointed out the door and said "Froggie Night- Night." I said "yes, Romie the Froggie is night night. He is very sleepy."

It is a beautiful thing, the innocence of children. To not even know or understand the concept of death. I do treasure this time......

Wouldn't it be nice if we could keep them that innocent until they were FIFTY???
