A Royal Obsession......

I think it started having been raised in a country of "Royal Watchers." It's kinda like we watch celebrity over here although maybe more prominent because the country is smaller and their is an inate fascination for those born into privelege and royal right. The pomp and circumstance, the glittery jewels, the magnificent palaces...and doesn't every little girl dream of being a princess? I have always gone after what i want ever since I was a little girl- be it a person, a dream, a frienship....When I was four, I decided I wanted Prince Harry. I was going to be his princess. So I sat down and wrote a proposal. It said Harry will you marry me, Love Lindsay . Then I drew a perferoted line and drew two boxes a yes box and a no box. Come on Harry, Wern't you intrigued?Who wouldn't desire a young girls forewardness coupled with pure simplicity? My parents being the good parents they were mailed it to buckingham palace.A few weeks later, they said they were amazed at a reply. They recieved a letter from buckingham palace (specifially Princess Dianas lady in waiting) saying Harry wanted to thank Lindsay for her kind regards.
I grew up watching The Royals, and more specifically fell in love with Princess Diana. She was truly the "Peoples Princess." She was soft spoken but powerful, beautiful but poignant. She would walk into a room and unassumingly she would be watched and heard. People always waited earnestly to hear her speak. I think I related alot to her as weird as that sounds. She lived a priveledged life and everything looked wonderful on the outside, but inside she struggled deeply. Maybe it was that we shared the same experience that comes with the cloudiness and isolation of an eating disorder or that she was a wonderful mom to her two boys ( I would love to have two boys). She seemed to hate the spotlight but loved that it gave her a platform for so many of the causes that were dear to her heart- such as AIDS and land mines. The night she was killed my mom came into my room and woke me up crying. We sat in bed and watched the news. In a way, growing up with the Royals, in a odd sense you feel connected to them, you love them, you feel a part of their family and their cause. We mourned her death with the rest of the world...
I loved watching the Princes last night. Harry is definatley hot. Its funny that I now relate to them as Orphans. (I have always said that no matter what age you lose a parent you feel like an orphan...)To grow up without a mother changes your world...and i have always felt that for them.It was beautiful last night to hear them talk and laugh and joke and to just see that through the often unstable family life that the Royal family creates, they have turned out to not only be "normal" as Diana always wanted. They are truly compassionate, considerate, and caring young men.

I watched the interview last night (and on the Today show), too. I was impressed at how laid back and "normal" they were. I just LOVE their accents...very sexy! ...And how dare Harry not accept your proposal!! Just think..Roman may have had curly, red hair!

I watched a little of it, and I liked how funny and light heated they were also. I also wondered...do you think they have a stylist? I thought so.
