Losing Weight....

Not me, silly! But for those of you intrested....it is a billion dollar industry.
I know I havn't posted in a while since the internet has been down at Pagehouse.I have been researching about natural beauty cures and how they did beauty in biblical times. My concern began when I found using drug store or more expensive brands of cosmetics and skin items showed the same results. Also, learning "expensive" products contain things such as cows amniotic fluid and slaughterhouse waste is enough to gross anyone out! My two main concerns were dry hair (me) and breakouts (me- for the past year). After trying more expensive hair products and seeing a dermatologist who repeatedly prescribed expensive (400 dollars a month) products which did nothing but tore my face up so badly that I was in tears and telling Andrew if i wern't pregnant I wanted pain meds. NOW!
I started praying (with Andrew too) and asked God to show me a better way. I will save how amazingly he answered those prayers on another blog. But basically I have resorted to all natural means of beauty care...this means I am making my own skin care products, shampoo, conditioner etc and using only truly natural makeup. This also works out to be amazingly cheap ..an added benefit!
So , I will be writing all my findings and recipies on my other blog but I wanted to leave you with some info on flax seed and weight loss...
Flax seed was used in biblical times (see exod 9:31 and josh 2:6). Researchers have found that the omega 3s in flax help the body regulate leptin which helps us lose weight and burn fat more effeciently.Flax is natures number one source of lignans which doubles the speed that the liver metabolizes and excretes inflammation which triggers fat and toxins.
Basically 1 to 2 tbs of ground flax will do what you need. Add it to cereal, shakes, toast, salads, soups..whatever. the best way is to buy a bag (publix has it) and grind it in a coffee grinder. It has 6 times the fiber of oatmeal and can also be substituted for butter in bakes goods (cut amount of butter in half and use ground flax instead)
Many people are buying "leptin" diet pills which cost 99 dollars for a months supply. A 30 day supply of flax. FIVE DOLLARS! Go get you some.

I'm assuming you have... I'm trying to switch to Method (at Target)... But i have thought about making my own.

That's awesome! Thanks for sharing. My mom has been using flax seed for a while. I never knew all the benefits though! I just might have to check it out myself :)

Hey! I saw your name on the nursery worker list. Please take good care of Thomas if you have him in your room. I totally agree with you on the beauty cures and everything. I had to use a lot of natural remedies while in Africa and I learned a lot from my Indian friends. Please keep me posted on your findings!

Yea!!! I love flax seed and am always looking for natural products and easy things. I use glycerin and distilled water 50/50 as a moisturizer for my face. It is so cheap and pure and does great!
Thanks for doing the research!

One more thing about flax seed, if you get them ground when you buy them, they need to be refrigerated because they get rancid and don't work as well. I found this out the hard way :(
I try to grind them myself, but then keep them in the refrigerator. That way, I know they are fresh and do all those great things.
Thank you for the wonderful information about flax seed! You are wonderful!
