I spent the morning volunteering at the dream closet which is part of the Dream Center in North Charleston. This is a ministry to help clothe moms and children while building relationships with them, of course. This morning I meet some beautiful women and their children. It was non stop helping them for 2 hours. There was never a moment when someone wasn't there. We helped them pick out clothes and then sent them to get food. We gave the children some toys and played with them. It was such a blessed and emotional experience. As I got in the car to leave Andrew called to ask me how it went. I burst into tears (for those of you who know me- I cry very rarely..)I just sobbed as I realized how much I had and how much I wanted to give. The Closet was very short of childrens clothing. One mexican lady came with 4 little boys and I couldn't give her any pants because we didn't have their sizes. They were 1,2,4, and 5. I wanted to run home and get all of Roman and Judes pants for her! There was also another lady with 5 kids who is getting evicted from her home tommorow..There is no way we can take care of all of these needs but it truly breaks my heart as I see these fellow mothers just wanting to provide for their babies as we do...
Another lady had a 3 month old daughter and we also didn't have anything in that size. So, please..if you have items you can donate from newborn to 5T is a big need boys and girls...please let me know and I will come and pick it up and take it over there. I am also on a mission to learn spanish in the next few monthes...It is a crazy feeling to love someone and want to communicate with them but to have such a barrier between you...

I completely understand! We have a program at our church that we call the Bargain Bazzar. I love working at it and helping others that are in great need of so many things. I told my husband that some days I just wanted to load them up & take them home with me. I love how God uses me to witness & love others. If only everyone could love as He does, then our world wouldn't be where it is now!
Okay, now I am crying too! I'm gathering all the stuff that's too small for Mary & Jack. Can you come by sometime next week? We could play AND give you the clothes....
Girl - if I had a bigger house I would totally take all of them! I will look and see what I've got - I love a moment when I can truly see how blessed I am - how much I have and how much I am loved - it does make you want to make others feel the same way! I want to learn some spanish too!
What a great program! I just gave away a ton of kids' clothes to another organization through Jr. League. I will keep this group in mind next time I purge!
That's an awesome opportunity! I will remember that next time I clean out.
