I know I havn't been blogging as frequently..I am in serious nesting mode with a to do list as long as my arm...Today I decided to paint all the scuff marks off the walls downstairs as well as address my birth announcements...the due date is a week tommorow ..woot woot! I am also trying to get lots of quality time with Roman..
I thought I would blog about my van today. I was driving it and thinking of how it has actually brought us so much joy and laughter- who knew?
We recieved the van as a gift from my dad..it actually belonged to my mom and was the vehicle I learned to drive in ..so it does have some sentimental value... being an older vehicle it comes with its perks...such as non- electric anything...roll down windows...thats an arm workout in itself and having to jerk really hard on the sliding door to get it open..
We have had a few memorable laughs in the van. Andrew always jokes that when we go through the drive through window that they are going to ask us to turn off our vehicle so that they can hear our order because it squeals so loud (not anymore...more on that in a few..). Andrew also cracks me up because he attempts to roll the window down in a "fluid" movement so it will look like it is electric- just to be silly of course..it makes me laugh every time he does that- like its a challenge to do it better each time...
Recently, we discovered the radiator had a hole in it and the ac was broken...With a new baby and summer on the way who wants to drive around with the ac broken...after taking it to a friend it looked like it could cost up to 2,000 to get it taken care of. The mechanic even asked "are you sure you don't want to trade it in?" We considered it but we LOVE not having a car payment...so we took to prayer. We prayed it would be simple and easily fixed. Well we have the van back now and with the radiator and ac fixed ...it cost 300 dollars!! Thank you Jesus! When Andrew told me his mechanic friend couldn't explain how it all started working after replacing one part..I told him he should have let him know of the power of prayer and living in the favor of the almighty!
AS a final laugh on the van saga..we had been telling Roman that the van was at the "doctor." Roman is a big fan of the "red ban." The whole fixing process had taken 3 weeks so when Andrew bought Roman home and the van was in the driveway..Roman exclaims " Wook Moma- the Ban is all better!!!" Yes, Roman..Praise Jesus the Ban is all better!

I see the carseat is already in! Any day now...
the minivan syndrome - i just don't get it - but it sounds like y'all are having a fabulous time!
ha ha. i cleaned all the scuff marks off our walls & base boards too right before AJ was born. I also drove all over the place.. for some odd reason.. i was out of control! have you used the "magic eraser" thing? it gets smudges off sooo fast. my dad is a mini-vanner- i think once you go Mini- you never go back!
Yay for the Ban! Emma was asking about Roman today. As soon as we hopped in the car and headed toward downtown Summerville, I hear "We gon' play with Wogie 'day, Momma?" But seeing as how it was a no-nap day (argh!), that wasn't going to happen!
And I have to say, after driving a courtesy minivan for one day when my SUV was getting a tune-up, that will DEFINITELY be our next vehicle purchase! :)
it makes me laugh everytime I hear her say "wogie" so cute!
Yeah for the Ban! We, too, love our mini-van and couldn't have survived the early years without it. Thanks to God for the savings on your repair! Miracles are everywhere....
Well, you know how I feel about bans, BUT I'm glad that your family is enjoying it! Thank God the ban's doctor was able to make him all better for so cheap (comparatively) ;)
P.S. I'm also impressed with how clean the van is!
It was so good to see you last night! Praying for you everyday!!! Lets get together soon! ((hugs))
