To be Crucified With Christ.

Just in time for Easter I decided to put a rusty nail through my foot. Preparing to run with Jude, it went through my tennis shoe and into my foot. I got a day trip to Trident ER where I heard some funny things while I waited for hours with this thing in my foot and no pain meds.

Seen and Heard

1." Can you get the engineer down here with some pliers for the girl with the nail in her foot."

2. "Will you get the pliers right back to me when you are done?"

3." Wheres the Dr. "oh..he is still on lunch break."

4. "Is there a chance you are pregnant Mrs. Page?" (third nurse).

5. "There isn't a chance you are pregnant is there?" (X-ray tech)

6. "Well, lets take your shoe off and have a look." (me: "umm..my shoe is nailed to my foot")

nurse: "OH SHIT." and promptly walks out of the room.

7. "Wheres the doc?" "He is still on a lunch break ..going on 40."

All in all I am hobbling around okay. The pain from the tetanus shot is almost worse. I can barely move my arm but I have heard this is normal.

Since I stayed home to recover on Friday and it was Judes actual birthday I decided to blow up one of our borrowed Jump Castles in the living room. After that the boys gave me the coolest mom of the year award.

Your title is priceless. I am SO sorry...I cannot imagine what that must have been like. Hopefully everything will heal quickly. Was the nail sticking out of the ground, a board? That is crazy! I have recently been in the "seriously..why me mode" but at least I can now say, "At least I don't have a nail stuck in my foot." Take care.

I stepped on a roofing nail when I was in 4th grade and it went through my shoe, too. My oldest brother was outside when he heard me scream and ran to me, immediately pulled the nail out and scooped me up and carried me inside! (He was in 9th grade at the time). Mine wasn't NEARLY as long as that one was, though! Sheesh!

On a 2nd note, aren't those jump castles awesome?!? The kids LOVE ours! I don't pull it out everyday though because I want the cool factor to last as it possibly can :)
