The Good and the Bad...

I can't believe I haven't posted in over a week. Alot going on around here...

The Good....

Before my dad and Kate left for England they took us to chuck e cheese. The boys had so much fun. Jude found a friend to "ride" with that was his same age. Even though she was twice his size. She kept puttin g her arm around him and kissing his cheek. It was so cute. Roman was obsessed with getting more "money" from Ba-pa and playing the games.

I also recently reunited with a middle school/high school friend who I have not seen in 12 years. She got to meet my boys and we caught up on alot! Roman loved swimming with her of course, and going to planet hollywood for lunch where he saw the power rangers. He is getting to be such a cool little person. He is so friendly and is into asking everyone if they are his friend and "Whats your name?- my name is Roman.."

The Bad....

Jude has been sick for over a month. It started out as diarrhea which I chalked up to teething. It progressively got worse and is accompanied at times by vomiting. He became lethargic and pale and started losing weight. We have gone to the doctor for x-rays and stool samples which came back negative. Then he got dehydrated and had to be given fluids and more blood work at Summer ville Med. (blood work didn't show anything). Also, he has had no fever the whole time...We are in waiting to see a Peds GI on Thursday and have been trying to keep him hydrated and happy in the mean time...Then yesterday I got a feeling he was dehydrated again so we went to Childrens hospital at MUSC where they gave him two bags of fluid through an iv and did more blood work which showed nothing. We were told there is something wrong but they don't know what and to follow up with the GI on thursday. I have never had a sick child and my heart breaks for parents that have to do this kind of thing on a regular basis. God has started to teach me alot in this process and I know His power is made perfect in our weakness. I am ready for some answers and for my baby to smile and laugh again. On a brighter note... I thought the baby hospital gown was the cutest and the way he kept looking at the diaper on his arm (to cover the wires and tubes) as if to say "silly people..thats supposed to go on my hynie..not my arm!!" Please keep him in your prayers and please let me know if you or anyone you know has any experience with anything like this. Thanks for your prayers and for keeping up with our lives!

Here's a little something to brighten your day.

Emma informed Dan and I yesterday that right now, she just loves girls--even though she still loves her "friend boys" and wants to see them. She said when she's older, though, she's just going to love Romie and marry him. Don't think she's quite grasping it yet, but still so cute.

Praying for you. Love you!!!

Lindsay,
I have a friend who's son had the same thing. But he's had it for a long time. They went to the GI specialist and found an ulcer in his intestine, very rare for a 1 year old. They've been treating it with Pepcid AC Complete and have seen such a turn around. He gained 11 oz. in a month. The GI Specialist will probably be a huge help!
Also, MJ had some problems too with GI, she had "silent" Acid Reflux with no symptoms other than constipation then diarrhea sometimes and lack of weight gain. She also was lactose intolerant.

We will be praying for you guys. When I saw you in the hospital bed I seriously thought you went into labor and my heart sunk. Please let us know if there is anything we can do.

Praying for you guys! It is so hard to see your kids hurting. One thing I have had to learned is to give AG back to the Lord. She is really His and not mine. Easy to say but so hard to do.

That pizza sure does look good - great now I am starving!

I hope they figure out what's wrong - that is the absolute worst!!!

Hey Lindsay! Of course, it's my natural reaction, but have they checked his blood sugar. Those are all signs of Type 1 diabetes, trust me, I know! Praying for you and your family!
